“Concert for Diana” Sells Out In Minutes

December 13th, 2006 // 2 Comments

It took a whopping 20 minutes for concert tickets to the memorial concert for Princess Diana set to take place at Wembley Stadium on July 1st to sell out. From NME.com:

Tickets for the Princess Diana memorial concert sold out within 20 minutes of going on sale this morning (December 13). Phone lines and internet booking sites for the first release of seats closed at 9.20. The line up includes Pharrell Williams, Elton John, Duran Duran, Joss Stone and Bryan Ferry. Tickets have already appeared on auction sites for £250 even before the booking lines had opened, reports the BBC.

For anyone who’s paying attention, that’s exactly how I would like to be commemorated upon my death. I’d like to be cremated and shot out over the audience for the encore, thankyouvermuch.

One slight problem with this concert.

Will Wembley stadium be ready for the event? As far as I know construction isn’t finished yet and it’s a couple of years overdue and over budget.

As for the tickets selling out in 20 minutes, most of them will probably end up on the black market.

  2. I think I missed the Part where Josh Groban shows up on stage singing youknow. I will buy the DVD at Barnes & Noble maybe I can ask my Parents.
