CMA Awards Red Carpet: The Women

Last night’s CMA Awards brought out the glamour in our country gals.  If I had to select two women to share the crown for best-dressed, it would have to be newlywed Carrie Underwood (in Talbot Runhof) and Gwyneth Paltrow (looking OUTSTANDING in Atelier Versace).  Paltrow is one of of my favorite movie stars, and my tiny little heart swelled with pride when she nailed her performance of “Country Strong.”

Other ladybugs who strutted their stuff on the red carpet, but didn’t quite make my best-dressed list: Leighton Meester in Emilo Pucci.  I did love the cut of the dress and the dramatic length of the train, but Meester looked a bit heroinish.   Nicole Kidman should have done the long gown and flip-flops instead of her Dolce & Gabbana frock,  and left the red high heels at home.   Then we have a Monique Lhullier-clad Taylor Swift , who I just don’t bother with.  All I see are sneakers, popular girls, and mouth guards.  This is what her song-writing had done to me.

Other pretty gals who hit the red carpet: Julianne Hough, Laura Bell Bundy, Katherine Heigl, Lynn Anderson,  Miranda Lambert, Kellie Pickler, Sissy Spacek, Sheryl Crow, Kimberly Williams, LeAnn Rimes, Jennifer Nettles, Katherine Heigl, Hilary Scott, and Joanna Garcia.
