CMA Awards Red Carpet: The Men

November 11th, 2010 // Leave a Comment

The men were out in full force last night at the country music awards and ten-gallon hats were more present here than at any other awards show, for obvious reasons.

Newly single Billy Ray Cyrus was there, duh, hopefully being flocked to by single up-and-coming girl singers. Randomly Carrot Top was there, and talk about someone who just looks terrible. Sheesh. Also at the show was Kid Rock, Ty Pennington, Keith Urban, Blake Shelton and Darius Rucker – yes, from Hootie & the Blowfish.

Shelton picked up the award for male vocalist of the year, while his fiance Miranda Lambert basically sweeped the entire evening. Shelton said, “It’s about 34 years worth of steps right there for me, y’all. This is a really big deal for me,” he said when accepting his award.

Brad Paisley was also recognized as the entertainer of the year, which moved him to tears during his acceptance speech, in which he thanks country music fans as a whole.

“It sounds like a cliché when you say thanks to the fans … [and] I don’t even mean mine. You guys are loyal to everyone in this room. It’s the most amazing fan base in the world.”
