We had a good chat tonight (April 24th) with Australian actress Claire Holt, who plays Rebekah on The Vampire Diaries. Holt stopped by the launch of BritWeek in LA’s Hancock Park neighborhood, looking sensational in Burberry (a truly British design).
While we’re curious about how the original family is going to play out the rest of season three, we were dying to know what it was like to kiss Damon (Ian Somerhalder).
Esther took over Rebekah’s body last week on The Vampire Diaries. Without giving too much away, what’s going to happen to the original family?
I think Esther definitely has some motives, and she uses Rebekak to try and get what she wants. Whether she’s successful or not, I don’t want to say. It’s definitely going to cause some turmoil in Mystic Falls.
What happens to Rebekah’s sordid relationship with Damon, now that he finally acted on his feelings for Elena?
I think like everyone else, Damon used Rebekah for his own gain and I think she’s aware of the fact that they’re doing that now [Damon and Elena]. You’ll definitely see some more of their relationship, whether it be good or bad, especially in the season finale. It’s going to be interesting. It was certainly fun to act with him.
Is Somerhalder a good kisser?
He’s a fabulous kisser, of course! It’s not hard to kiss somebody who looks like that.
Has it been fun on the set?
It’s great. The whole cast has all been so welcoming. It’s a really nice atmosphere. I love them all and I consider them friends.
You have a new film coming out.
I do. It’s called Blue Like Jazz. It’s a bit of a departure from Rebekah, but it’s nice to play different characters.
