So, it might have been a pretty disappointing Emmys on the fashion front, but boy it was anything but boring when it came to the actual thing! I’ve gotta say, that Neil Patrick Harris knows how to host himself a show.

After a silly–but still amusing–opening involving several past hosts, we were off and running with all the categories at the 2013 Emmy Awards! It was no surprise that Claire Danes picked up another award for Homeland. Although I was surprised with Anna Gunn‘s win!

Not that I’m complaining of course. I love my Anna!

And I LOVE all the Breaking Bad wins. It was a good night. Sadly 30 Rock didn’t pick up the award for Best Comedy like I was hoping, that went to Modern Family because of course. Luckily Tina Fey and Amy Poehlergot to be funny, which is really all we need in life.

The Colbert Report was a big winner tonight picking up the awards for Best Writing for a Variety Series and Best Variety Series. Way to beat The Daily Show folks!

Oh, and thank all the good lords that Behind The Candelabra won Best Miniseries or MovieLead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for Michael Douglas and Director for a Miniseries or Movie for Steven Soderbergh. That movie was amazing.

Some of the show’s highlights included two kick-ass dance numbers, one courtesy of NPH and the other courtesy of all the nominated choreographers. I love when they dance at award shows. It’s always so snazzy. Oh, and obviously Julia Louis Dreyfus‘ speech was the best speech.

Overall folks, it might have been a night of some surprising wins, but I had a fantastic time. Check out the full list of winners below, and don’t forget to launch the gallery for some of the best Emmy moments!
