Christian Bale & Wes Bentley Spotted On Set, Ladies Swoon [PHOTOS]

I’m not a big fan of Terrence Malick‘s films–I find them overly long and devoid of human emotions, although they are pretty–but I am rather excited about him putting Christian Bale and Wes Bentley in the same film.

Batman and the dude with weird facial hair from The Hunger Games were spotted in Marina del Rey shooting scenes for the film Knight Of Cups. Christian has been spotted all over the place for this film, most recently looking like badasses with Cate Blanchett.

Is it just me, or do they kind of look like brothers? Maybe that’s the kind of thing they’re going for. Check out all the photos of Christian and Wes in the gallery then leave us your thoughts on the film in the comments, especially if you’re a Malick fan. I’m always looking for someone to debate with.

malick’s movies creates a mode and doesn’t display raw emotions much. i enjoyed his movies which is surprising as i would like drama and dialogue. what you are saying is his movie doen’t have much theatrics.

But seeing bale in a different kind of movie than he usually is in nowadays, i would like great story drama and dialogue. especiaaly that he is with such caliber actors as blanchett, portman and bentley. hope malick doesn’t dissapoint us in that.

    • My main point isn’t that he doesn’t have theatrics. My problem with his films is that he always seems to want to accomplish so much in them, but by the end nothing has happened. Take “Days Of Heaven” for example, it’s supposed to be this sweeping epic of family, love, desire, jealousy–set against the backdrop of rural farm life. But so much of the film is spent on the look and taking everything moment by moment, that when you stop and look at the big picture of everything there hasn’t been any real development that pulls you in. At least this is how feel about Malick’s films. I appreciate their cinematography, but that’s about it. I’m still waiting for a day when I’ll watch a Malick film and be amazed. Although he does have several movies in production, which is very rare for him and perhaps a clue as to something new in his filmmaking style.
