Chris Pratt Wasn’t A Big Fan Of Being 300 Pounds: ‘I Was Impotent, Fatigued, Emotionally Depressed’

Now, it may be hard to recall a time when Chris Pratt didn’t look like the 6-packed sex god we see before us, but it’s true.

Back when he was on Parks and Recreation, sure Chris Pratt was hot, but in that doughy, dadbod sort of way. And he didn’t like it. In the latest issue of Men’s Health UK, the actor opens up about his ballooning weight, and how while it was funny, he felt terrible.

First, he started putting on the weight thanks to wife Anna Faris

“I put on weight because I’d fallen in love with a woman who loved to feed her man…She would eat a little bit, I would eat all of mine and the rest of hers.” After that, it was all part of his comedic act on Parks and Rec.

“I wanted to get fatter for the role. I announced it to the whole cast, and then it became a bit of a game: how fat can I get and how fast. I would eat four burgers at every read. I became really fat and got up to almost 300lb. I was impotent, fatigued, emotionally depressed. I had real health issues that were affecting me in a major way. It’s bad for your heart, your skin, your system, your spirit.”

But now, he’s turned it around. And while the food used to be the thing that brought him joy, now it’s the stuff in-between the food. “Now mealtimes are sometimes lame, because that’s the way it can be when you’re eating healthily. But all the time between meals, I feel great.”

You can read the rest of his interview in the July issue of Men’s Health. And like all Chris Pratt interviews, it’s adorable. And includes pictures of him looking quite sessy. And guess what! You can see some of those photos in the gallery. Enjoy!
