Hemsworth was featured in Mens Health Celebrity Fitness on his preparation for his role in Thor. So, how did he get that ripped buff body for the part you ask, by a simple and sensible formula- eating right, exercising regularly at the gym, and getting adequate rest. Simple, right?
For the role, Hemsworth needed to add on 20 lbs and to do so he needed to change his lifestyle and not by just quitting junk foods. The actor was athletic before and had his own share of sports he liked to play leisurely but Hemsworth was never more so dedicated to fitness than those months of preparation for Thor.
His diet was strict and his workouts were rigorous. His diet focused solely on the intake of fruit, vegetables and protein sources.”I feel as if I’ve been busy, but all I’ve been doing is eating all day,” said the 28-year-old.”Eating when you’re not hungry and taking in that amount of food is exhausting.” The actor took to the gym to utilize that energy gained from the food into a smart exercise to build muscle.
Trainers advised a regimen that challenged his muscles and awakened them in new ways. This was done by varying the exercise in all aspects- weight, reps, and speed as each can make a tremendous difference in your results.
