It was all about textures at yesterday’s 2010 Glamour Women of The Year Awards held in London, England. And both sides of the Atlantic got the memo bringing a mixture of lace, leather, satin, pleats and panels to the red carpet.
The clever ‘lollipop’ jab is not my own, but I had the same thoughts when I saw the pictures of British pop singer Cheryl Cole. I guess the effects of a rigorous tour schedule and pro-England World Cup quickie divorce are taking a tole on Cole, who won the Woman of the Year prize.
If it weren’t for the lingerie-esque accents, the color would be a wash, similar to Anna Kendrick‘s awkward box shape. At least Kendrick didn’t go in the opposite direction of fat flowy, like Cole’s arch-enemy Lily Allen.
My favorite choice was between Zoe Saldana and Kelly Rowland. Saldana, who loves to show some skin, did it coyly with a lace back. And Rowland looks like she’s attempting to look like the diva desperately waiting to break free.
I’d like Nicole Richie‘s dress better if she stood up straight and Nick Jonas, he always look super cute.
