Channing Tatum made the press rounds today before tonight’s UK premiere of Magic Mike, stopping by BBC Radio 1 studios and ITV’s This Morning. Fans in the United Kingdom cannot wait to see the ensemble stripper flick, co-starring Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer, Alex Pettyfer and Joe Manganiello.
Asked about the film and if there was a group trip to the waxing salon, Tatum told This Morning (via the Belfast Telegraph), ”I actually wanted to do that and film it so we could all haze each other. My buddy filmed mine and was making fun of me the whole time.”
And what about his own personal grooming to play the title role? ”I didn’t want to shave because when I actually did [work as a stripper] I shaved every day, so I just wanted to do it once,” Tatum recalled. ”That was a big mistake, I’ll never do it [again], I don’t see why you guys do it,” he said with a laugh. “I did have a huge amount of compassion and then after I told my wife [Jenna Dewan] that she doesn’t have to do it anymore and she still does it. So I have zero compassion. I’m like, ‘Let it go. Let everything go. No one needs to go through that pain.’”
We can’t, Tatum! You just don’t get it.
