Cate Blanchett, Russell Crowe And Giant Gowns Attend The Premire Of ‘Robin Hood’ At Cannes

The 63rd Annual Cannes International Film Festival is under way with the start studded Robin Hood premiere.

Salma Hayek debuted the first ever couture gown from Gucci Premiere on the red carpet (husband Francois Henri Pinault is CEO The Gucci Group) and while it was gorgeous it was a little lost, along with Helen Mirren’s Elie Saab, in the battle of big gowns.

The film’s Maid Marian and stunt lady extraordinaire, Cate Blanchett wore a dress by the late Lee Alexander McQueen with a large tulle underskirt, but Eva Longoria’s white Pucci chiffon gown had a train that almost reaches back to L.A.. Kate Beckinsale has them all beat, though, with a train and tons of material and tall hair.

Ahead of the premiere fans were trying to get spots around the red carpet to catch a glimpse of some of the stars. Other US films being shown at the festival include Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps and Woody Allen’s You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger.

Click through the gallery to see Russell Crowe, who I’m still having a hard time picturing as Robin, and a lady who’s job for the day is keeping Eva’s train straight.
