It’s hard to go anywhere nowadays without hearing Carly Rae Jepsen‘s hit song, “Call Me Maybe”, playing everywhere. The song was first spotted by Justin Bieber, and her song was launched into instant popularity when he, Selena Gomez and Ashley Tisdale danced along to the song and put it on YouTube. Talk about insaaaane.
What’s probably crazier is how Jepsen found out, which was through another, similarly popular website: ”I was talking to my mom at the time and it popped up on my Facebook. [...] I was like ‘that guy looks like Justin Bieber and that girl looks like Selena Gomez’ and by the time Ashley Tisdale came on I was like ‘Mom, I got to go!’ and I had a little freak out.”
Jepsen’s life has probably undergone a lot of changes since going under Bieber’s wing (being signed onto his label? Outselling him 2:1? Having a no. 1 hit?!), but few things are more shell-shocking than groups of fans trying to get your autograph. Jepsen got the Bieber treatment herself after leaving her hotel in Paris yesterday.
