Carey Mulligan Disses Anna Wintour’s Advice (And Knows How to Party)

Carey Mulligan, the seemingly quiet English rose, knows how to speak up when it’s necessary: the Oscar nominee ditched Anna Wintour’s fashion advice and used to be a rowdy partier.

“Anna said I should wear short for the Oscars,” says Mulligan, who appeared in Vogue. “I was
like ‘No, that is so not what I had in my head when I was six years
old!'” Dare I say it but (is Anna going to come looking for me?) but who wants to wear a short dress to the Oscars?! It’s probably the one time in your life you can get away with having a team of people carry some ridiculously long train. And being able to sit down is overrated anyway. I’m sure the stylish Carey, pictured yesterday at the Elle Style Awards, will think of something fabulous.

In addition, it seems that Mulligan was quite the wild partier at her apartment two years ago. The UK Daily Mail reports Mulligan and her roommates got booted for their loud and boisterous parties.

“We had to get rid of them–it was getting too noisy,” a nearby dweller
at the Cholmeley Lodge tells the newspaper. “They always had people
coming and going. There was shouting and music playing late at night.”
