Alec Baldwin (look as dashing as Jack Donaghy in head-to-toe Ermenegildo Zegna) carried his fiance Hilaria Thomas up the steps to the Palais des Festival at tonight’s opening ceremony. Yes, it’s that time of year again. The 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival is here, and it’s time to let your mind wander to coastal towns along the Mediterrean.
Anyhoo, so the turnout for the premiere of Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom – starring Bruce Willis, Bill Murray, and Edward Norton – was pretty spectacular.
Eva Longoria, looking every bit the movie star she hopes to become, walked the red carpet in a dramatic Marchesa gown. Though she doesn’t appear in Kingdom, Longoria (along with Freida Pinto) acted as L’Oreal’s brand ambassador. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Longoria and Pinto just have to keep up appearances on the red carpet and at parties (by land or by sea) to fulfill their role as the beauty giant’s representatives.
Does Diane Kruger ever get it wrong? The answer is “no.” Kruger serves on the festival’s jury, and tonight she wore the most fantastic Giambattista Valli Couture gown. I was a little bored with Jessica Chastain‘s Alexander McQueen gown, but she’s so sweet that it doesn’t matter. Chastain will premiere her film, Lawless at the festival. It was only last year that we took notice of her performance in The Tree of Life.
