Cameron Diaz Former Money Manger Sued, She Resumes Film Career
A former money manager to Alanis Morissette and Cameron Diaz just discovered that he won’t be allowed to make any money off his exploits in a book or movie as part of the terms of his bankruptcy. No, “If I Did It”-type novella for this guy. Also, you may or may not have heard that Cameron Diaz will be coming back to the big screen in a romantic comedy. And I’m guessing that it’s going to be a screwball romantic comedy, since Ashton Kutcher will be involved. The two will be starring in “What Happens in Vegas …” for 20th Century Fox. According to the Hollywood Reporter:
The story is set in motion following a night of debauchery in Vegas, when two strangers (Diaz and Kutcher) discover they have gotten married and one of them wins a huge jackpot with the other’s quarter. In trying to determine the rightful beneficiary of the winnings, the duo embarks on a series of plots to undermine the other, falling in love along the way.
I love that, because it’s exactly how my grandparents met and fell in love. Of course, they never really came to terms with the way the winnings were divided up and their messy divorce followed years of bickering and anger and we all agreed that they were much better off without each other. But for a while there, it was kind of a cute story to tell people.
