Singletons, smug married and emotional f**kwits rejoice!  BBC News reports that Bridget Jones’s Diary author Helen Fielding is currently penning a third installment to the beloved wobbly bits franchise.

Literary agency Aitken Alexander Associates says that although no definite publish date is on the books, a spokesperson told Newsbeat that it could be on sale as early as October 2013.

According to People, the New York Timescame across a press release that describes the premise of the book as “a totally new phase in Bridget’s life.”

The first book was published in 1996, and The Edge Of Reason followed in 1999.  Both books sold over 15 millions copies, and are published in over 40 countries worldwide.

A third movie is currently in development (it’s listed on IMBD as in pre-production with no list of cast yet), and music for a West End play has already been penned by Lilly Allen.

It appears that the film and book may not be in sync, as the former is reportedly focusing on Jones and a baby, while Fielding has other plans for her heroine.

“My life has moved on and Bridget’s will move on, too,” Fielding has said.
