Hollywood’s iconic actress Elizabeth Taylor has died at the age of 79. Taylor was admitted to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles two months ago for treatment of symptoms of congestive heart failure.
Taylor was a champion for a number of charitable causes, notably the fight against AIDS. She founded the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation after the death of her friend Rock Hudson, and poured both her time and money into its work, especially as her acting career waned in the 1980s.
Taylor is a two-time Academy Award-winning actress noted for her seven marriages. In addition to her children, Taylor is survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
