Bradley Cooper Really Wants To Play Lance Armstrong, In Talks With JJ Abrams [PHOTOS]

Let me just get this out the of the way first. I was really hoping that Bradley Cooper would have won the SAG Award last night for Silver Linings Playbook. He was so good in it, and was looking pretty good last night too. I just wish his hair was a tad shorter.

On to Lance Armstrong. The Oscar-nominated actor says he would “love” to play Lance Armstrong in a film about the disgraced cycling champion’s life. Cooper told the BBC

“I remember thinking, that would be a great character, I’d love to play that character. I would love to do something, I think he’s pretty fascinating.”

Paramount Pictures and JJ Abrams’ production company Bad Robot will base the film on New York Times reporter Juliet Macur’s forthcoming book Cycle of Lies: The Fall of Lance Armstrong.

When asked about Cooper’s interest in tackling the part backstage at the Producers Guild Awards in Los Angeles, Abrams told ET’s Christina McLarty “[Cooper] sent me an email and we’ve been talking.”

I’m excited about this. I think he’d be really great in the role.
