Brad Pitt To Star In ‘Holmes’ Sequel As Villain Moriarty

September 22nd, 2009 // 4 Comments

It looks as if Brad Pitt is, in fact, going to star in a Sherlock Holmes sequel despite the strong protestations of…well, Sabba.

The star of Inglourious Basterds is reportedly going to star in the follow-up to the Guy Ritchie-directed Holmes, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.

Pitt is to take on the role of Sherlock’s nemesis, Moriarty, although The Hollywood Reporter claims that no deal has yet to be inked. However, if the box office success of Pitt’s most recent movie project with Quentin Tarantino is any indication, Warner Bros. is most likely going to hurry up and seal this deal.

I hope this is just a horrible rumor. I’m not feeling Brad as the villain at all. A Gary Oldman type would be better.

    NOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brad Pitt isn’t a villain! He needs to shave the beard and go do stuff like “Burn After Reading” and “Inglourious Basterds.”

Gary Oldman would be a good villain. I might even go Alan Rickman. Let’s just pick the Harry Potter vault of talent, shall we?

Not Brad Pitt, he can’t act or do accents. He is a celebrity not a good actor

Wow, Alan Rickman or Gary Oldman as villains?!? That is so original it just might work!
