It seems crazy that about three months have passed since the Boston Marathon bombings.
Jeff Bauman, bombing victim, was not standing far from the finish line where one of the backpacks was purposely left behind by a bomber. Bauman was enthusiastically waiting for his girlfriend to cross the finish line when the bomb detonated. The blast tore through both of his legs, thus leading to an emergency amputation.
Thanks to the devoted staff, volunteers, and contributors from the Wiggle Your Toes Foundation, and a personal fundraising campaign, Bauman was able to get prosthetic legs.
After months of grueling physical therapy, Bauman took his first steps recently. He hopes to eventually return to his job at Costco and get back to his life prior to this incident.
“You only look forward. I had a lot to live for before, and I’ve got a lot to live for now,” Bauman said.
Nothing gets better than an attitude like that.
