Body Buzz: Glide Into The New Year

January 8th, 2007 // 1 Comment

There is a new workout program that is featured in the hottest workout clubs across the country. Created by Mindy Mylrea it’s called Gliding and is now available for you at home. Gliding is a workout done by sliding on two Frisbee-like plastic disks allowing the user to enjoy various body-sculpting movements.

Gliding engages your muscles through a full range of motion, doubling the benefits of traditional strength-training workout. One of the best benefits of this workout is that it stabilizes your core to tone up those abs! Getting started is easy. Begin by doing two sets of 12-15 reps of each movement. Once you become more comfortable with the workout, you can work your way up to 15-20 reps of each movement. Do the routine three times a week on nonconsecutive days for the best results and you will notice a visible change in a month.

Find out how to get the best results from Gliding after the jump.

For the best results, wear sneakers and choose a carpeted surface. In a standing position, place the ball of your foot in the center of a disk, with your heel hanging off the edge to act as a brake. When gliding, center your weight over your stationary foot, keeping your movements smooth and controlled. The disks are available at www.GlidingDisks.com for $20.00. Soon, you’ll be gliding into your jeans and that bathing suit in no time!

Hi, I’m new to your site and love the exercise ideas that you have on posted. I would love to learn more about gliding and the exercises that you should do, however they are not available in Australia. I was wondering if you could give me a couple of examples of the exercises.
