Some incredible movies have hit the big screen this year. Argo, The Hobbit, and Magic Mike are among some of our favorites. Awful movies have somehow been allowed to be shown to the public proving that you have to take the good with the bad. One of the worst films of this year only made about a million dollars, causing their losses to be much higher than probably any film out there.

Films that are supposed to be major hits often bomb in the box office. John Carter was expected to do really well and in all honesty, it flopped. Publicity surrounded the project for a while, so to see that it didn’t do well was a shocker. One of the worst things is when you learn one of your favorite films didn’t do so hot in the theaters. Sometimes it almost makes you question your taste in films.

Which of the films are you surprised to find out didn’t do so hot? Let us know in the comments below!

Some of the films on the list did more than double of their domestic numbers and in the end did not bomb at all. Movies are seen and paid for around the world, and most films make more money internationally than domestically. So these numbers are just misleading and pointless.

Sometimes box office flops turn into cult classics, so there is hope for some of these movies. Who knows? Maybe in 10 years there will be Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter conventions. If Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is ever adapted into a movie, they’ll both become cult classics
