Bidding Socialite Life Farewell: Lisa Timmons Signs Off

January 15th, 2010 // 6 Comments

It was over three and a half years ago that I responded to an ad on Craigslist to write for Socialite Life. Since then, I have enjoyed some pretty amazing experiences, made some new friends and received a lot of sweet free stuff in the process.

I got to travel around the U.S. in a luxury jet that took me on a whirlwind 5-city tour courtesy of SKYY Vodka, made my way to Vegas for the VH1 Rock Honors and co-hosted an entertainment podcast with a good friend, Wayne Ford, for about a year.

I learned that red carpets come in various shapes and sizes, Bai Ling‘s nipple is ALWAYS exposed and I look Jewish.

Goofy jokes aside, I can’t begin to express how much I’ve enjoyed writing for you guys on a weekly basis. However, I have decided to move on to a new job and am passing the torch to the lovely Madison Ventura, whom I hope you will welcome with open arms. She’s poised to do an excellent job and I look forward to reading her posts on Socialite Life. Since I can’t stand long goodbyes, I’ll keep this brief. I’d like to thank Michael Prieve first and foremost for being the heart and soul of Socialite Life, as well as my buddy in the trenches for over three years. Miu von Furstenberg, I am forever in your debt for being generous enough to share the spotlight with me. Cheers to you, my favorite boozy broad! Wayne, you helped make this job fun and your creativity never ceases to inspire me. And Jay, I have to thank you for simply being Jay. :)

To all the contributors, writers and interns–you are the backbone of Socialite Life. Without your efforts, the site quite possibly would not have survived some of our leaner times, nor would it be functioning as smoothly it does today.

Special thanks to B-Side blog, BreeSays at Buzznet.com, the geniuses behind Shiantology, Chartrigger, Idolator, the entire Celebuzz gang (past and present), Popbytes, The Hollywood Scandal, BuzzMedia, the Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles, The Rose Group, Showtime and of course, you, loyal readers, who make it all possible. As for me, you can still find me tooling around online at my website, LisaTimmons.com, and on Twitter at @timmonslisa, pondering the weather and what to make for dinner, most likely.

I started this journey as a fan of Socialite Life, with no idea how much impact the site would eventually have on my career and life in general and look forward joining the ranks as a regular reader.

Yours truly,
Lisa Timmons

XOXOXO
