Beyonce Defines “Diva” And Expectations At Age 30
With Columbia Records having doubts about how successful Beyonce’s recently released album, 4, will do… girlfriend decided to add some dimension to her image to make it platinum.
Specifically, in an interview with CNN’s Piers Morgan. Full video available after the jump.
It came as no surprise when she claimed diva-status, but eloquently defined “diva” based on the incredible women she’s met her in life, including Patti LaBelle and Tina Turner.
“[They’re] graceful and talented and strong and fearless and brave and someone with humility. And I think it’s an appropriate time to be a diva,” said Beyonce.
To soften the exuberant, fierce personality that we have come to know, love… and immortalize on fashion magazine covers, she tells of her soul searching journey and expectations of the age 30.
“I feel like a woman. I feel like I’m very aware of who I am. I feel great and I feel like 30 is the ideal age [to start a family], because you’re mature enough to know who you are and to have your boundaries and your standards, and not be afraid, too polite — but you’re young enough to be a young woman. I’m so looking forward to it,” said Beyonce.
But don’t rush to check the registry yet! She also wanted to retire at 30!
Judging from her Glastonbury performance – passionate yet comical faces and all (see the gallery for a little entertainment), she’s not rushing in either direction anytime soon.
