Did Sarah Palin manage to push her agenda at Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People gala last night in New York City. You betcha. She told Entertainment Tonight that is “representing everyday, average hard-working Americans.” The politician-turned-author-turned-soon-to-be reality TV star kept her lips sealed about potential plans to run for the presidency in 2012. “We’ll have a great evening this evening without being too political,” she said modestly.
However, I’m sure the highlight of her evening had to be meeting Betty White. Excited to hear former President Bill Clinton speak at the Time banquet, she said, “Tomorrow we’ll have table reads [for her appearance on Saturday Night Live], so I’ll see the sketches. That’s going to be fun.”
Comedian Andy Samberg says working with the screen legend is “bedlam. She’s a party animal, bouncing off the walls.”
A few other celebrities in attendance were Ben Stiller, Ashton Kutcher, Twitter founder Jack Dorsey and Taylor Swift. Taylor managed to sing in key for her performance at the gala. Such a maverick.
