Royal Photog: What A Year!
Arthur Edwards reflects on the Diamond Jubilee year.
The most exciting games in recent memory were those that took place in London, England this past summer.  For Britons, it coincided with Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee, celebrating sixty years on the throne.

The city pulled out all the stops to welcome athletes from all over the world, and put a spotlight on Team GB Olympians including Tom Daley and Jessica Ennis.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as well as Prince Harry were Team GB ambassadors, which boosted interest in the game ten-fold.  Catherine attende countless events during both the Olympics and Paralympics, cheering on every sport from gymnastics to boxing.

The Opening Ceremonies, directed by Oscar winner Danny Boyle, were more spectacular than anyone could have imagined.  Queen Elizabeth herself took part in a skit with Daniel Craig, something nobody expected.

The best tweets came from the US Women’s gymnastic team, who typed their excitement after meeting Her Royal Highness.

Jordyn Weiber tweeted, “Can’t believe I just met Princess Kate Middleton! She was in the crowd at the competition and she stood up to talk to us! .”
