There aren’t many people on this planet who could convince me to buy a whole bunch of unnecessary auction items for charity, but Benedict Cumberbatch is definitely one of them.
Clearly the Sherlock actor had the same effect on folks at the GQ 25th Anniversary Exhibition. Benedict used his skills last night to raise $249,057.12 (£155,350) for the Prince’s Trust.
“Please help us tonight by digging deep, buying yourself some truly phenomenal, ground-breaking art you see in the room and help get these young lives back on track.”
I don’t even have room for new art in my house, and I wanna go bid an ungodly amount for something to help the young people. I assume that if I do this, Benedict will love me and let me wear the deerstalker hat. Maybe? OK, so probably not. One can dream, right?
Props to every one who donated last night. In case you don’t know what the Prince’s Trust is, it’s an organization that gives “practical and financial support to the young people who need it most” in the UK. So sweet. Launch the gallery to check out all the photos of Benedict and his eyes on the red carpet. Would you basically do anything he told you to? Yeah, I thought you would.
