Hostage drama Argo took the top motion picture prize at last night’s (January 26, 2013) 24th annual Producers Guild Awards, with Ben Affleck, George Clooney and Grant Heslov receiving the Darryl F Zanuck Award for producing the thriller.

Affleck, who also directed and stars in the film, called the moment “incredible, exciting,” as he accepted the award at the ceremony, held Saturday night at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, said The Hollywood Reporter.

Ben Affleck, coming off winning Golden Globe Awards for best motion picture drama and director for the real-life drama, received the award handed out at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

“I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that I’m still working as an actor,” he said in his acceptance speech.

A bevy of celebrities attended the awards, including Matt Bomer, Channing Tatum, Eddie Redmayne, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba and her husband Cash Warren, who was looking particularly hot last night.

In the other film categories, Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph, produced by Clark Spencer, took the animation prize, and the documentary award went to Sony Pictures Classics’ Searching for Sugar Man, produced by Malik Bendjelloul and Simon Chinn.

Among the television contenders, ABC’s Modern Family won the award for episodic comedy for the third year running, and Showtime’s Homeland won its first PGA Award in the drama series category.
