As is the case with most weddings in the U.K., the bride is rarely the center of attention (except for HRH Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge). Female guests do their part to draw attention towards the head, where fancy hats and fascinators top off a conservative dress and matching coat. Today was no exception up in Edinburgh, Scotland where Princess Anne‘s daughter Zara Phillips married rugby player Mike Tindall at Canongate Kirk.
Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice kept their headwear a bit more tame at their cousin’s wedding than on April 29th, but still managed to look jazzy (no fallopian-tube-toilet-seats in sight). Both wore designs by Angela Kelly, who was also responsible for Her Majesty’s outfit for Prince William and Catherine’s wedding back in April. Prince Edward‘s wife, Sophie, Countess of Wessex wore a taupe number by Bruce Oldfield and a hat by Jane Taylor, according to The Telegraph. Queen Elizabeth arrived in an ensemble by Stewart Parvin (one of her favorite designers, who also created Philllips’ wedding gown) topped with a hat by Rachel Trevor Morgan.
Camilla, oh Camilla. What the feathers is atop your head? Fresh flowers? You look like a nest! Also part of the fancy hat brigade: Coronation Street star Katherine Kelly, Una Healy from the girl band The Saturdays, TV presenter Natalie Pinkham and Olympian Amy Williams.
