Beauty Buzz: Annoying Acne Not Just for Teens

Blemishes, pimples and acne oh my! They can be a huge source of embarrassment and are the most common of skin care complaints. Acne is not just a burden to teens and adolescents it’s also very common for adults to develop acne later in life after years of having a clear complexion.

There is no quick treatment for blemishes it may be as simple as changing your cleansing ritual, changing your diet or reducing stress. Keep your face clean and don’t over scrub it. This will only irritate your skin and make you more prone to breakouts. Wash your face twice a day with antibacterial soap, three times a day for acne prone skin. To avoid aggravating pimples, stay away from harsh soaps and fragrances.

A cleansing product that I recommend is Cetaphil that is available for $6.99 at www.drugstore.com. Cetaphil cleanser was formulated for dermatologists as a gentle, non-irritating cleanser for even the most sensitive skin. Unlike soap, Cetaphil is fragrance free and won’t irritate the skin. Cetaphil also soothes and softens as it cleanses, helping the skin retain needed moisture. Cetaphil comes in two formulas gentle skin cleanser and normal to oily skin cleanser and both cleanse without drying out your face.
