Betty White joined Joy Behar on her HLN show last night to chat about her new book If You Ask Me (And Of Course You Won’t). White also talked about a former co-star who wasn’t fond of the spunky 89-year-old, according to On The Red Carpet. “Bea [Arthur] was not that fond of me,” she told Behar. “I don’t know what I ever did but she was not that thrilled with me.” Well, if White was anything like her Golden Girls character, Rose, then we get where the late Arthur, who died from cancer in 2009, was coming from. Kidding! ILYBW.
“I can’t believe I’m the only one left,” White confessed. “Because I was the oldest.” Estelle Getty died in July 2008 at 84 and Rue McClanahan died last year at 76. Getty, revealed White, was very afraid of death. Whenever the girls had to film a funeral scene or anything having to do with dying, Getty got upset. “She was mortally afraid of death,” White said. “I can’t tell you how many funeral homes or scenes by caskets that we played, but she was never happy with it.”
