“Basically, It Stinks Too” Sweeps The Razzies

Sharon Stone’s breathy, over-the-top performance in the fabulously craptastic “Basic Instinct 2″ may have been overlooked by the Academy of Arts and Sciences, however, the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation was definitely paying attention. Over the weekend, the film racked up four awards, including worst film, worst screenplay and worst prequel or sequel–not to mention worst actress for its leading lady–from the organization known for recognizing the “best” of the worst in Hollywood.

According to the Razzies website:

Although they decided to spread the loathe around, voters for this year’s 27th Annual RAZZIE® Awards clearly placed Sharon Stone’s unintentionally hilarious who-dunnit Basic Instinct 2 head and hooters above the competition.

But there were more than enough of the raspberry-topped super-eight reel trophies to go around, with “Little Man” (a soon-to-be Hollywood classic) garnering three awards for the Wayans Brothers, and M. Night Shyamalan’s “Lady in the Water” picking up two. Also, it looks as if Carmen Electra narrowly beat out her “Singled Out” predecessor (oh yeah, that’s right, I got OLD SCHOOL on your ass), Jenny McCarthy, to snag herself the dubious distinction of worst actress for “Date Movie” and “Scary Movie 4.” Um, congratulations, guys?
