Backstreets Back: The Backstreet Boys Celebrate 20 Years Of Making Music Together

April 20th, 2013 // Leave a Comment

Happy 20th anniversary to the Backstreet Boys!

Kevin Richardson, Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, AJ Mclean, and Howie Dorough are officially celebrating 20 years together as a group. That is correct, the quintessential late-90′s boy band has been a group longer than 60% of One Direction has been alive.

This, of course, means it is time to party like it’s 1999! I am talking about some Larger Than Life partying. The boys men have a full calendar of events to celebrate this landmark in their careers, beginning Saturday night with their 20th Anniversary Fan Celebration at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, followed by receiving  a shiny new star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and culminating with a brand new album!

Can’t make it to the party? Don’t fret, the Backstreet Boys are all about lending you a helping hand and making you feel alright, so if you can’t make it to the event in person, bring the event to you! Find out how to the bring the party to you, below.

Enjoy the party from the comfort of your couch, because the 20th Anniversary Fan Celebration will be available for live streaming through iGoHD beginning at 5pm PST TODAY, April 20! Or, watch the live stream of the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, featuring special guest and friend to BSB, Max Martin, while you “work” on Monday, April 22, beginning at 11:30 AM PST.

What about the new music? The Backstreet Boys reunited in London last July to begin work on the new album. They started recording new music last summer for their eighth studio album (and first album featuring Kevin since 2005) and are set to release the new music later this year. A date hasn’t been named yet, but with buzz swirling this weekend, hopefully we will get news on the new album and tour.

For now, launch the gallery for a look back at their music thus far, and sing along to all your favorite jams with the Backstreet Boys Megamix below
