ASL PARTY PATROL: Frontiers Magazine Hot 25 Party
Thursday night I attended Frontiers Magazine Hot 25 party at the gorgeous Eleven supper club in West Hollywood.
Here’s what the invite said:
Frontiers Magazine is bringing HOT back!!
Please come join me at ELEVEN in West Hollywood this Thursday to celebrate the release of Frontiers Magazine’s HOT 25 ISSUE which profiles 25 interesting individuals in our community who are making a difference – Angelinos who are redefining what’s HOT!
The event will be hosted by Catwoman herself – Julie Newmar and we would also like to introduce you to our new editor, Jeremy Kinser.
The event will be held from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM and will feature entertainment, drinks, and appetizers and we will have a raffle to benefit the Gay & Lesbian Center’s Young Professional Council.
I promptly got to Eleven at 6:30. There was only a short window for the drinks and appetizers, so I had to position myself close to the bar, but near the kitchen when the servers came out with the food.
As usual the place was not done setting up for the party. They were still hanging posters and banners, setting up the bar and gathering the gifts for the raffle. It was no big deal to me because I perched myself up on a barstool and enjoyed some cocktails.
About 20 minutes later the party was beginning to get in full swing. I found my pack of fellow socialites and we purchased raffle tickets.
Around 8:00 they propped Julie Newmar up to say a few words before the raffle started. She mummbled a couple of sentences incoherently, then they whisked her off back to her celebrity retirement home some place deep in the Valley, I’m sure. I’m not one to bag on my elders, but poor thing had no idea where she was or what she was doing.
After I didn’t win a raffle prize AND the bar running out of the host alcohol before the party was over, I knew it was time for me to go home.
