Ashton Kutcher Opens Up About Brittany Murphy’s Death

Ashton Kutcher opened up for the first time in public about his ex-girlfriend and co-star Brittany Murphy’s unexpected death at the age of 32. He had tweeted a kind note after the actress’ death but hadn’t commented deeply until now.

“I don’t think you can [make sense of her death]. I don’t know if you
try to make sense of it or not. I just celebrate who she was,” he said. “She was
like the person who walked in the room and she was always, like, the
first person to dance.”

Kutcher went on to describe her bubbly, sunny nature.

just try to connect to that and celebrate who she was and how she was
and not make sense of it,'” he added.

Kutcher, pictured filming Friends With Benefits with Natalie Portman yesterday, stayed a fan of Murphy’s up until her death, even though their flame simmered years before rumors of her drug problems. On the set of Just Married, the actor said, “She’s the best, man. I’ll do anything with her, any movie, hands down.” He was looking to cast her in a TV series two months before her death, which was the last time he saw her.

“There is no sense of making sense of
it,” Kutcher said.
