Can you hear that? It’s the sound of no more “Armed & Famous” for the world. Sigh. I know I might just be a sucker for anything that Latoya Jackson does (because I’ve never actually seen the show), but I had my suspicions confirmed that the show was awesome by none other than TVGasm’s B-side, who was charged with recapping the show. So, you can read and feel good about yourself because even though it’s reality television, it’s also READING. And reading is literary.
Alas, it seems that it simply was not meant to be as “Armed & Famous” was slated to compete against the reality powerhouse, “American Idol.” And as much as Erik Estrada, La Toya Jackson and Jack Osbourne tried their darndest to win an audience, they were simply no competition for the Special Olympics alumni who warbled their way into America’s hearts. CNN reports:
“It came down to ratings,” CBS spokesman Chris Ender said Monday. “Going up against ‘American Idol’ was a tall task for the show.”
Aww, well, I hope La Toya at least gets to keep her gun. That’s a visual I can’t seem to just let go.
