Apolo Ohno Shows Off His Olympian Muscles Before DWTS Practice [PHOTOS]
Despite already winning the coveted Disco Ball trophy a few years back, Ohno is not treating his second round of dancing as any “walk in the park.” In fact, Ohno is taking the new season quite seriously, and wants us to know exactly how. The dancer has started a blog that shows his thoughts, trials, and tribulations regarding his journey on the show.
The most recent blog of Ohno’s provided some insight on the last week’s results, as well as the current weeks, which featured fusion dances of the Cha Cha and the Paso Doble. On the previous elimination of his cast mate, Sabrina Bryan, Ohno said “I was nervous during Tuesday’s elimination. I’m standing there next to Sabrina, thinking about how she also had a perfect score and she’s the overall highest scorer. She’s just been so incredible. You never know who is going to go home. When Sabrina was eliminated, it was tough. No one really knows what to say, and especially to someone who is such an incredible dancer. You never want to see anybody go home.”
Despite the bitterness of watching your friends get eliminated, the real focus is on the dancing. It’s is a dancing show, after all. Ohno spoke out about the weeks dances, “The judges decided to change it up on us this week and give us a little fusion dance, which is a combination of the cha cha and the paso doble, which are totally different. The cha cha is fun and “let’s party,” while the paso doble is a really aggressive, proud – almost angry – but a powerful and strong dance. It’s one of my favorites.”
Ohno is still a front runner in the competition for the next week, so the chronicles that Ohno is giving can only be an insight into the process of a possible winner. Guess we’ll have to watch the show to find out!
