Anne Hathaway Wants Gay Marriage To Be Legalized In New Jersey

Being a Jersey girl, it only makes sense that that’s the first place Anne Hathaway thought of to jump on the train towards legalizing gay marriage. According to reports, Anne has urged the state to follow in New York’s footsteps. New York legalized gay marriage in June and the celebrities went wild with excitement, as did a lot of the country.

Anne’s older brother Michael is gay, which is perhaps an added reason for why she wants it to happen all over. That and that equal rights for everybody means equal rights for everybody. Anne told one magazine:

They need to get on the New York bandwagon and legalise gay marriage. But I think everybody should do that. It’s not a specifically Jersey thing.

Anne is currently working away promoting her new film One Day, which she stars in with super hottie Jim Sturgess. Anne recently paid a visit to The Daily Show and looked so gorgeous. I’m kind of obsessed with her. Such a good actress and so pretty. Not. Fair.

Here’s to hoping that Anne can use her star power for some influence. And if that doesn’t work, she can always throw on her Catwoman costume and go make them do it. I quite like the latter. Make sure to check out the gallery to appreciate Anne looking fantastic on just a normal day.
