The legacy of Sex and the City is still going strong. Over 5 years after the iconic show’s finale, and the name ‘Carrie Bradshaw’ is still inside households. Or it’s about to be, again.
The CW has developed a show, set to premiere in January, created by Josh Schwartz (the mind behind Gossip Girl) that is based on upon the journey of a teen-aged Carrie Bradshaw, and her first set of New York adventures and the journey to becoming the writer that we know she’ll become, in that little show called Sex and the City. The show is aptly called The Carrie Diaries and stars Annasophia Robb.
The actress stepped out last night in New York City for the premiere of the show, as part of the 2012 New York Television Festival with some of her co-stars and the creators of the show. The series also stars Austin Butler as her love interest, Sebastian.
It seems that the 18 year old Robb, who has been filming the show in NYC for the last few weeks, is already taking fashion tips from her character’s adult counterpart. Wearing a shiny, gold top and a black skirt, Robb completed the ensemble in true Carrie fashion, by wearing a hounds tooth coat as an accent.
CW network exec’s are hoping that the prequel spin-off will be the start of another phenomenon like its predecessor. Perhaps a Sarah Jessica Parker cameo will happen! I guess time will tell!
Catch The Carrie Diaries on The CW in January.
And launch the gallery to see Annasophia Robb channeling her inner “Carrie Bradshaw.”
