Angelina On ‘Maleficent’ Set, New Book Tells Of Mick Jagger’s ‘Infatuation’ With Her [PHOTOS]
Angelina Jolie put her horns back on to perform an aerial scene in Buckinghamshire, England today (July 11th) for Maleficent, after attending the Sarajevo Film Festival this weekend. The Disney film takes a page from Wicked’s story, explaining Maleficent’s side and “the events that hardened her heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora.”
Christopher Anderson’s new book, Mick: The Wild Life and Mad Genius of Jagger (out yesterday), details the Rolling Stones
frontman’s two-year “infatuation” with Jolie. “Although Jolie was already married to British actor Jonny Lee Miller of Trainspotting fame and carrying on an affair with actor Timothy Hutton, Marche felt that her daughter needed a man like Mick” (via an exclusive excerpt in New York Daily News).
“’Marche loved Mick for Angie,’ said Marcheline’s friend Lauren Taines. ‘She felt that he could teach her about fame and how to handle it.'”
Jolie appeared in the Rolling Stones music video for “Anybody Seen My Baby” shortly after filming Gia, and Jagger’s fascination with her grew.
For Mick, a large part of Jolie’s appeal was her wild streak. ‘She scares me a little,’ he said. ‘I like that.’ Encouraged by Marcheline, who was determined to see her mercurial daughter marry him, Mick wasted no time pursuing Jolie once the cameras stopped rolling. At first she refused to return his phone calls, and, in standard fashion, the messages began to pile up on her machine: “Angelina, it’s Mick. Will you please, please call me?’ ‘Miss Jolie, why aren’t you returning my calls?’ ‘Angelina, I have got to speak to you. Call me.’
Only Mick Jagger would be obsessed with Angelina Jolie.
But the messages continued, each sounding more desperate than the last. Taines, who listened to the new batch of messages, described them as ‘astonishing.’ After all, here was Mick Jagger, ‘virtually sobbing’ over the phone. Angie, added Taines, was doing a marvelous job of ‘messing with Mick’s head.’ Jagger’s stop-and-go romance with Angelina Jolie lurched on for another two years — and even that was not the end of it.
Now she’s got 1800 kids and is engaged to Brad Pitt. If you had only waited ten or so years, Sir Mick Jagger.
