It looks like there may be a sequel to 1995′s Waiting To Exhale in the works, according to the New York Post. Angela Bassett told fans on The Talk yesterday that “It’s preliminary, but ‘Waiting to Exhale 2′ is gonna happen.” Every single person from the original cast, including Whitney Houston, is said to be returning for the sequel.
“[Terry McMillan] wrote ‘Getting To Happy’ and she’s written the screenplay … I’m talking Loretta [Devine], Lela [Rochon], Whitney, Forrest [Whitaker] is working on the script now,” Bassett said.
This is so exciting! We were huge fans of the original (not to mention the soundtrack), so to get everyone back together for a second film is tres righteous. Bassett and Devine co-starred in Jumping The Broom, hugging it out after the film’s premiere Wednesday night at the Arclight Theater in Los Angeles.
And now, to get you back into the spirit of the 90s, take a look at the video after the jump of 14-year-old Aussie Jack Vidgen singing Houston’s “I Have Nothing” on Australia’s Got Talent. Vidgen, who says he wants to be Australia’s Justin Bieber, blew the judges away this past week.
