Amy Winehouse’s Boyfriend Reg Traviss Speaks Out About Her Death
There has been an outpouring of love for Amy Winehouse since her death Saturday, with a private funeral taking place today in London. Winehouse’s on-again/off-again boyfriend Reg Traviss, who visited Winehouse’s shrine where fans placed flowers and signs, spoke out about his loss, telling The Sun,
“The last three days have been hell. We have suffered a terrible untimely loss and want peace now. I can’t describe what I am going through and I want to thank so much all of the people who have paid their respects and who are mourning the loss of Amy, such a beautiful, brilliant person and my dear love. I have lost my darling who I loved very much.”
Traviss said that Winehouse’s death was an accident, and that the troubled singer was very upbeat prior to her passing and had even taken up yoga, according to the Daily Mail. Traviss was well-liked by Winehouse’s parents, since he was the polar opposite of their daughter’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil.
Fielder-Civil is currently serving 32 months in jail for burglary and possession of an imitation firearm. Mitch and Janis Winehouse made it very clear that Fielder-Civil was not allowed to attend their daughter’s funeral since sources say Mitch “hates his guts.” It’s been said that Fielder-Civil introduced Winehouse to hard drugs while they were together.
