Comedian-extraordinaire Amy Poehler was honored on Saturday at Variety’s Power of Comedy event, to benefit the Noreen Frasier Foundation. This year the public was invited to buy tickets, where they were able to witness some fantastic stand up comedy acts and mingle with celebs. Poehler wore an Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co. bottle pendant with Carved Lapis Stopper in sterling silver ($625).
Maya Rudolph performed R. Kelly’s hilariously raunchy song ‘Sex in the Kitchen’ and Nick Kroll cracked up the crowd with a bit about crapping his pants—now that’s what I call comedy. Sarah Silverman also did a standup bit and Tina Fey sent in a funny and sincere video tribute (after which Poehler claimed anyone who wasn’t there in person was dead to her).
The legendary comedians kept the entertainment coming with a video from the brains behind Arrested Development: Mitchell Hurwitz, Will Arnett and David Cross. The Dan Band and Million Dollar Strong performed hilarious renditions of ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ and ‘What’s It Gonna Be’ respectively, and the night came to a close as Will Ferrell introduced Amy Poehler.
