Paula Goodspeed Repeated Herself At Paula Abdul’s Home

November 13th, 2008 // Leave a Comment

Paula Goodspeed, the former American Idol auditioner who was found dead in a car outside of Idol judge Paula Abdul’s house Tuesday night, had overdosed in her car in the “exact same area” before, according to TMZ.

Goodspeed, who auditioned for AI in 2006 for season 5 and was denied (and critiqued on her fashion sense and braces), died as a result of a drug overdose/suicide. And authorities report that she had repeated the same tragic gesture either “either late last year or early this year.”

The intense Paula fan reportedly suffered from “extreme mental illness”, which had worsened in the last two years. Neighbors reported seeing Goodspeed’s car in the neighborhood in the past few weeks, but assumed she was a paparazzi. The failed singer reportedly had a picture of Paula danging from her rearview mirror and her license plate read “ABL LV.” Someone at the RMV needs some crisis management training. She also listed Paula as “her secret crush” on her MySpace page.

Abdul herself was reportedly frightened by Goodspeed (sounds like she had a reason to be) and had involved the LAPD’s Threat Management division in an investigation of the woman who referred to herself as “Fashion Genius” and showed up to her AI audition in 2006 with scads of drawings of Paula. Sad but shivery.
