Well guys, we finally have it: the judging panel for the 12th season of American Idol.
After months of speculations and plenty of “will they, won’t they” moments, FOX finally announced this morning the new American Idol judging team of Mariah Carey, Randy Jackson, Nicki Minaj & Keith Urban. Just after the announcement was made, Ryan Seacrest tweeted the above photo writing, “It’s official, your new
#IdolJudges are @MariahCarey, @NickiMinaj, @KeithUrban & @Yo_RandyJackson!”
So, basically it’s like the judges on The Voice except that Adam Levine has turned into Nicki Minaj, am I right? I am quite glad Randy got to stay after talks with Enrique Iglesias fell through. Having him no longer be a judge would have felt wrong. So what do the new judges have to say for themselves?
Not too much yet. Nicki retweeted Ryan’s photo, but that’s been her only thing on the matter. Keith hasn’t said anything either, although we bet the people over at the Australian version of The Voice he left for this aren’t too pleased. Oh well, we got him here now! Haha!
So what do we think of Mariah, Randy, Nicki and Keith? It seems like a pretty good group. I mean, the best will always be the original team of Randy, Paula and Simon, but this one should be entertaining. Mariah says there’s no tension between her and Nicki, but I’m really hoping for some judging cattiness.
Tell us what you think of the judges–and if you’ll be tuning in this year–in the comments below!
