2012 Produced The Fab Five, But Remember The 1992 Champs?
18-year-old Aly Raisman has experienced many ups and downs during the 2012 London Olympic Games. And even though it has been nerve wracking to watch at times, for her parents especially, watching her get rewarded in the end was well worth the wait. According to the Washington Post, Aly barely beat out her teammate Jordan Wieber for all around competition, but came back to bump the reigning champion from Romania and win the gold for her floor exercise. Unfortunately, little Gabby Douglas didn’t have as much luck and finished 7th on balance beam.

Seen here, Gold medalist Alexandra Raisman of the United States poses on the podium during the medal ceremony for the Artistic Gymnastics Women’s Floor Exercise final on Day 11 of the London 2012 Olympic Games at North Greenwich Arena on August 7th in London, England. It’s so great to see the bond with her couch in these photos as well as her reaction to finding out her scores. The excitement and emotion are tangible!
