The 25-year-old Yale grad, who is currently promoting skincare line Simple, sat down a few days after the Golden Globes to lift the lid on her Connecticut upbringing.
First off, she’s annoyingly hung up on being perfect, even though she says she’s not anymore:
“Something that’s been lovely about the last couple of years is that I’ve finally abandoned the pursuit of perfection, which I think I was pretty stubbornly holding on to, just always trying to be the best at everything I did. I grew up enough to realize that the people I respect aren’t perfectionists. And I was like, ‘Oh, that’s so much more perfect.’”
She will never give up the cardigan and pearl necklace look, no matter how harsh the fashion critics are:
“I have a goal, which is that I don’t ever want to look back on something I wore and think, ‘Oh my God, what was I thinking?’ That feeling is much scarier than looking back and thinking, ‘Oh, I took myself so seriously. I’m so buttoned up.’”
Williams told T&C that on the first season of Girls, she was still carrying around some college weight, attributed to a steady four-year diet of pizza and beer
“My college weight was still petering out when were filming.”
Where?! In her toes?
Williams, meet Jennifer Lawrence. She’ll take that stick out of your bum for you, then force you to drink a beer. ’Cause that’s what friends do.
