Alexander Skarsgard’s New Animated Noir Film Premieres
True Blood hottie Alexander Skarsgard seems to have a taste for the dark side. His newest film Metropia premiered last night at the Tribeca Film Festival.
The film uses a technique that takes real photographs which were then altered and stylized by a computer program as they were animated. The result is creepy, big-headed people with sunken eyes in a creepy alternate reality set in 2024. In the film, all of Europe has been connected by underground tunnels and the population works constantly in oppression until one voiced by Vincent Gallo begins to unravel the conspiracy. The film also features the voices of Juliette Lewisand Alexander’s father Stellan SkarsgÃ¥rd. Check out the trailer after the jump.
Alexander seems to be lending himself to more experimental, high-brow
projects, further proving he isn’t just another pretty face. Put it this way: I don’t expect to see him starring in The Back Up Plan anytime soon.
