For those of you that are unfamiliar with American Horror Story, I am here to help you out.
First, it is what i being called an anthology series on FX Network, which means the show continues each season with a new cast of new characters with a completely different setting and story.
Second, it was just nominated for 17 Emmy Awards (tied with Mad Men for the most nominations). The catch? It was entered in the mini series category, not the drama category, of which it belongs to both. The argument was made that because it is an anthology it is like a mini series, but this also means it was in a way less competitive category which explains why it out-nominated many other more popular shows.
Third, the show was created by the same creators of hit dramedy, Glee! Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk decided they wanted to do something completely different and go somewhere nobody has gone before – making a horror movie into a weekly TV show.
Fourth, this gory drama scored Adam Levine as a supporting actor for season two that just began filming. He is set to play Jenna Dewan‘s husband (AKA Channing Tatum‘s better half) and are referred to as “The Lovers”. This is sure to get interesting!
Read on for more details on Adam on set of the newest season of the show that is garnering much awarded attention.
Yesterday, Monday, July 30, Murphy tweeted a photo of Adam on set, giving the fans a sneak peek.
The tweet read, “AHS exclusive: Two of our stars who started shooting today — the multi-talented @adamlevine and Bloody Face!”
Who exactly is this “Bloody Face”? Who knows… But as childish as that painting looks in the light with a smiling (and super sexy) Maroon 5 frontman standing next to it, I’m sure the AHS team will have no trouble making it a terrifying part of the storyline.
For me, I’m just relieved Adam was cast in a couple referred to as “The Lovers”. I hope this drama will live up to my expectations and really bring it for the second season.
Other stars include first season veterans Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, and newcomers Franka Potente, Chris Sylka, Joseph Fiennes, Chloe Sevigny, Clea Duvall, James Cromwell, Mark Consuelos and Lizzie Brochere. Season two is set on the east coast during the 1960s in an insane asylum where lead actress Jessica Lange will portray the nun who is in charge of the mental institution and Chloe Sevigny who is a patient who was sent there by her husband for enjoying sex too much.
