The blessed day is finally upon is: Adam Lambert is set to make his Glee debut tonight!
Following its heartbreaking tribute episode to Cory Monteith last month, the series will return with a new addition: the fabulously named Elliott “Starchild” Gilbert, who will be played by none other than the American Idol alum.
In tonight’s episode, we’ll be treated to a little Kurt versus Adam clash, as Lambert’s character auditions for a Madonna cover band. And yes, expect him to sing Lady Gaga’s “Marry the Night” as he swings from a chandelier. Take it away, Adam:
It’s a really interesting episode that explores the balance between being an artist and [having] that type of integrity, and also being a business person and being commercial…I’ve been in the music business now after Idol, and gone through the process of putting out songs and working with the radio, so I have a lot of experience with that juggling act.
It seems like Adam is set to juggle more than just music – if everything goes as planned, we’ll be seeing him on the silver screen: “I’ve always loved Jesus Christ Superstar. I want to do a film remake when they decide to get that going,” he added.
And what about his new album, which Lambert is working on now? “It just feels like people are really thirsty for it,” he said. “I’m trying to stay busy on a lot of different projects. There’s room for everything, nothing’s exclusive. I’m juggling!”
And so begins the Glee countdown. In the meantime, treat yourself to this teaser videoand gird your loins! Let us know in the comments if you’re planning on watching Lambert’s debut tonight!
